ToneBender variants
Beginning with the Maestro Fuzz Tone, which wasn't called a Tone Bender but became the basis of the first Tone Bender circuit, the Tone Bender was king of all fuzzes until the Fuzzface came along. The two circuits are closely related, with the Tone Bender Mk1.5 being actually a clone (with some minor variations in parts values) of the Fuzz Face, but they have their own special personalities. Typically Tone Benders are generally favored by humbucker players and Fuzz Faces by single coil players, as the Tone Bender tends to not get so swamped out by the big signal of a humbucker.
